Scilla - NOR™ Contraceptive Pills

Each coated tablet contains:
LEVONORGESTREL BP 0.75 mg.

Description :
Scilla - NOR™ is an emergency contraceptive pills are useful in unprotected intercourse. It is not useful in women who are already pregnant. It acts by preventing ovulation and known to prevent implantation as well.

Indication :
Emergency post coital contraception with in 72 hours of unprotected intercourse.

Dosage and Administration :
One tablet at Scilla - NOR™ should be taken orally with in 72 hours after unprotected intercourse. The second tablet should be taken 12 hours after the first dose. The drug will have better action if taken as soon as possible after the unprotected intercourse. It can be taken at any time of the woman's cycle.

Doctor has to be consulted if the concerned woman vomits with in one hour of the described dosages for repetition of administration of the drug if any.

Contraindications :

• Pregnancy or suspected pregnancy
• Breast cancer
• Unexplained vaginal bleeding
• Allergic to Scilla - NOR™ components

Scilla - NOR™ is not administered or recommended for routine use as a contraceptive. Existing pregnancy is no way terminated by administration of Scilla - NOR™ Menstrual bleeding tend to be irregular after using Scilla - NOR™ and some may experience spotting a few days after taking Scilla - NOR™. Good percentage of women who used Scilla - NOR™ showed vaginal bleeding comparable to normal menses. A small percentage showed either more bleeding or less bleeding. A good number of women had normal cycle bleeding and some showed bleeding. In case of undue delay in the period pregnancy can be suspected. On rare conditions there is a possibility of the occurrence of ectopic pregnancy; in this case patient should be in touch with the doctor.

» In geriatric: patients the use of Scilla - NOR™ is not intended.
» Scilla - NOR™ does not protect against HIV (AIDS) or STD like other contraceptives

Diabetic woman should be monitored while using Scilla - NOR™, Physical or pelvic examination is recommended in woman who shows concern over their health or pregnancy after taking Scilla NOR .

Adverse Effects :
Nausea, Vomiting, Abdominal pain, Fatigue, Headache, Dizziness, Menstrual changes, Ectopic pregnancy

Contraception done with the effect of Scilla - NOR™ is not the same as abortion as it prevents pregnancy before it begins. Scilla - NOR™ is used as a emergency contraception drug in unprotected sex with in 72 hours (earlier administration before 72 hours will bring better results) and should not be used as regular contraceptive like others available for contraception. Authorities have approved the use of Scilla - NOR™ as an emergency contraceptive drug.

Results up to 80% achieved by prompt and correct use of the emergency contraceptive. The use of the same is not effective in the case of women who are already pregnant and it does not affect the fetus in women Who are found to be already pregnant.
